Prior to joining Ortiz Leon Arquitectos, Lawrence S. Ng served as consulting Design Director at Craigewan, a development company established for the development of St. John’s Wood Square, a 5.5-acre super-prime residential development in London.
Prior to his relocation to London, he was Senior Vice-President at Pontiac Land, a real estate development company in Singapore, overseeing their development projects including 53W53 at MoMA, a super prime residential development in New York, and asset managing their real estate portfolio in Singapore which includes hotels, office, retail and residential properties.
Until 2014, Lawrence Ng was a Principal at Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects. During his thirty-year tenure at Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects/ Cesar Pelli & Associates, he served as Project Principal and Design Team Leader responsible for the architectural design and master planning of more than ten million square meters of commercial, residential and mix-use developments all over the world.
Recent projects under his direction included Torre Cristal in Madrid, The Landmark in Abu Dhabi (320 meters), Tower Three Petronas at KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, Costanera Centre in Santiago (300 meters), Ocean Financial Centre in Singapore, Downtown Jebel Ali Plaza Two in Dubai, 62 Buckingham Gate in London, Riverview Plaza in Wuhan (400 meters), Xuzhou Central Plaza and Solis Hotel in Xuzhou, Four Seasons Hotel and Capital Place in Jakarta, Fairmont Hotel and Lot 176 Office Development at KLCC in Kuala Lumpur (380 meters), Yurun Centre in Nanjing and Lingnan Tiandi Lot A Development in Foshan.
For over twenty years, Mr. Ng served as Design Team Leader and Project Principal for the design of more than 6 million square feet of office development and public spaces at Canary Wharf in London including One Canada Square, Citigroup Centre, the European headquarters building for JP Morgan Chase, Northern Trust Company, Reuters, 40 & 50 Bank Street, East Winter Garden, West Winter Garden and Canada Square Retail Pavilion.
He also served as Project Manager for International Finance Centre (420 meters) and Cheung Kong Center in Hong Kong, Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur (450 meters) and World Financial Center in New York City.
His experiences in large scale master planning include Canary Wharf Master Plan and North Quay Master Plan in London; Kuala Lumpur City Centre Master Plan in Kuala Lumpur; the Ayalon Business Center Master Plan in Tel Aviv; and most recently, Huaguoyuan Master Plan – a city for 18 million people, in Guiyang, China.
Mr. Ng was a speaker at the 1999, 2003, 2004 and 2005 CTBUH Conference on Tall Buildings. He was also a speaker at the 2002 CIB Global Leaders Summit on Tall Buildings held in London. He is also a frequent
speaker at international conferences on tall buildings, sustainability, stainless steel, curtain wall and natural
stone. He has contributed articles to professional journals including Laminated Glass News and Stainless
Building Bulletin. He lectured at Yale University, Cornell University, University of Pennsylvania and Delft
University of Technology. He also served as visiting design studio juror at Yale School of Architecture.
Mr. Ng is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and a LEED certified professional. Mr. Ng received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University, his Masters of Architecture degree from Yale University and his Masters of Science in real estate finance degree (honors) from New York University.
