Alfonso Vegara is the Founder and Honorary President of Fundación Metrópoli, an international organization focused on helping cities build a better sustainable future.
Urban Architect with a Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning from the University of Navarra. His studies and expertise include economics and sociology. Alfonso’s ideas and projects have been disseminated through more than 30 books, and lectures, highlighting its latest publication “Supercities. The Intelligence of Territory”
Alfonso’s projects have been awarded prizes by the United Nations, the European Union, The European Council of Spatial Planners, Architects´ Associations, Entrepreneurial Associations, Cities, and National Governments.
He’s also a former member of the Jury of the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize; Fellow and Trustee of the Eisenhower Fellowships, and since 2005, he has been the Honorary Consul General of Singapore in Madrid.
